How we choose to direct the time, talents, and treasure we have is an opportunity for each of us to grow in our discipleship.
In Matthew 6:21, Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” At Harvest Valley, we respond to this through our value of “Live to Give”.
As disciples of Jesus, we believe God calls us to a life of generosity. One of the ways we live this at Harvest Valley is by practicing a Biblical principle called the tithe, which is returning a tenth of our income back to God.
We don't see this as a financial discipline but as a spiritual one. Our tithes support the operations and ministries of our church. It is how we pay for rent, equipment, resources, and salaries.
We believe generosity also goes above and beyond, investing even sacrificially into bringing the message and impact of the Gospel to more people both locally and globally. We give opportunities for this in two ways: through Kingdom Builders and our Expansion Fund.

Asset-based Giving
Asset-based giving may afford you significant tax savings compared to cash donations.

- Charitable Gift Annuities (CGAs)
About Stock Donations
- Donating appreciated stock or other traded securities will typically cost you less than making the same donation in cash. Selling appreciated stock generally results in you first paying capital gains tax and then donating from your after-tax proceeds. However, by donating appreciated stock you can deduct the full value while avoiding the capital gains tax. The church can receive the full value of the stock because, as a charitable organization, it is not required to pay those taxes.
- If your stock is held by your broker, you may use the form located below to provide them all the information they will need to make a donation on your behalf. This form also contains HVC's account details for you to use if making a transfer from an online or self-managed brokerage account.

About Qualified Charitable Distributions
- If you are 70 ½ or older, you are eligible to give directly to Harvest Valley Church from your IRA through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Giving through a QCD is as simple as contacting your IRA custodian and instructing them to transfer any amount up to $100,000 per individual per year directly to Harvest Valley Church from your IRA.
- If you are 72 or older, a QCD can satisfy your annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Further, QCDs will also not count towards your taxable income for the year allowing you to be generous and receive even more tax benefits.
